An Undertaking of S.D.College (Lahore) Ambala Cantt

Dept. of Sanskrit & SDHDR&T Center of S D College, SD Adarsh Skt College, GMN College, Arya Girls College, Ambala Cantt & Rotary Club Ambala (Industrial Area) jointly organized an offline cum online national webinar on the occasion of International Sanskrit Day (21-8-2021) on the Topic – २१वीों शताब्दी में सोंस्कृ त की सोंितता, उपय ष्टिता एवों व्यवहारपरकता Relevance, Utility & Application of Sanskrit in 21st Century in which 42 participants from various states and institutions took part and share their views. Dr. Vishnu Dutt Sharma, Principal, SD Adarsh Skt College, Ambala Cantt presided over the function and Dr. Rajendra, Dr C K Jha were the resource persons deliberated upon the issue from various aspects and suggested application of Sanskrit Shaastraas and emphasized that there is urgent need to change syllabuses of Sanskrit at all levels. Dept of Sanskrit initiated the discussion by PPT presentation and pointed out the narratives based on caste, Brahminism, Gender Bias, ritualistic, Paakhanda etc developed by secularists, communists, librandus type constipated minds and on the other hand development of industry, Market economy, media etc has also raised the issue of relevance and utility. Dept of Skt argued that the Sanskrit as language & culture can be defined by three paradigms – 1. Vedic culture i.e. culture of knowledge & knowing, 2. Culture of Yagya i.e. culture of earning & distribution and 3. Culture of Yoga i.e. assimilation, synthesis of knowledge & action based on first two. It was also demonstrated how Sanskrit Shaastraas can be applied in a fruitful manner on issues related to social sciences and sciences. Alternative indegeneous Models of good governance, GNHI, Human Rights, women empowerment, critical thinking etc were also shared briefly. After this Dr. Avinash Srivastav, Dr. Sadanand Unnikrishnan, Dr. Sunita, Rt Dr. R S Dhillon, Dr. Vijay Sharma, Prof Meenakshi, Sh Dilip, Sh Anil Mittal and others shared their critical views on different aspects. Dr. R S Dhillon emphasized the fact that Punjabi is a direct manifestation of Sanskrit and he gave multiple examples to prove his point. Before the Vote of Thanx President of Rotary club Rt Rachna Banmali along with Secretary Rt Virender Kumar Dureja and Project director Rt Chaand Chaawala hnoured Dr. Vishnu Dutt, Dr. Rajendra & Dr C K Jha for meaningful contributions to the Sanskrit academic world.
