Under the VedaVyaasa Restructuring Sanskrit Scheme, Dept of Sanskrit & SDHDR&T Center of S D College, Ambala cantt organized a discussion session 9n the occasion of World Philosophy I.e. 15th November 2018 thursday today on the topic – Philosophy VS Darshan – what they mean by truth, reality, appearance, consciousness, mind, matter & ultimate? फिलासफी एवम् दर्शन – सत्य, यथार्थ, आभास, संवित्, अन्तःकरण, पदार्थ तथा परम-तत्त्व से इन दोनों का क्या तात्पर्य है? * in skt. dept. Which was attended by sh Anil Mittal, Sh BD Thaper, Sh Manish, Dr Jaiprakash, and others. A ppt presentation was made to clear the ethos of the two words philosophy & Darshan along with the terms mentioned in the topic & also made it ample clear that Darshan is not an intellectual exercise to know truth or things as they are like philosophy, darshan is about intelligence to seek liberation & intellect is one part of intelligence. More over God or any kind of belief is not the core issue of darshan in Indian tradition.There were many other points which were discussed. U can download attached ppt if interested.
